Both read a website's design and hand it to your coding agent. Dembrandt is an open-source command line tool that loads a URL in a headless browser. Siteprint is a Safari extension that reads the page you are looking at.
What Dembrandt is
Dembrandt is a free, open-source CLI. You point it at a URL, it opens the page in a headless browser and reads the computed styles: colors, typography, spacing, borders, shadows and components. It writes the result as JSON, as W3C design tokens or as a DESIGN.md for AI coding agents, and it can run as an MCP server inside Claude Code or Cursor. It runs anywhere Node runs.
What Siteprint is
Siteprint is a Safari extension for Mac. You open it on a page and it measures what Safari is showing you right now: the palette with each color's role, the type scale, corners and spacing, a blueprint of every section, the animations the page plays and its assets. It writes a prompt at three levels of detail or a DESIGN.md, exports Tailwind v4 and shadcn themes and tokens, and with Pro serves your scans to Claude Code, Cursor and Codex over a local MCP server.
The real difference: which page gets read
Dembrandt reads the page a fresh headless browser gets. That is ideal for public pages and for scripting, and it is the same result every time. Siteprint reads the page in your own browser, as you left it: signed in, past the cookie banner, on the tab you opened, scrolled to the section you care about. You can pick one section or component and scan only that. It also takes a screenshot your agent can look at.

Which one to use
Use Dembrandt if you live in the terminal, work on Linux or Windows, or want to pull tokens from many URLs in a script or a CI job. Use Siteprint if you find designs while browsing in Safari, need pages behind a login, want to check the reading visually before exporting it, or would rather click than type a command.
Is Dembrandt free?
Yes. Dembrandt is open source and free to use from the command line.
Can Siteprint read a page behind a login?
Yes. Siteprint reads the page open in your Safari tab, so a dashboard or account page you are signed in to is read as you see it. Nothing is uploaded.
Do both tools work with Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. Both write a DESIGN.md and both can serve designs over MCP. Siteprint's MCP server runs from the Mac app and needs Pro.
