CSS Peeper is a Chrome extension, and there is no Safari version. Siteprint is a Safari extension for Mac that shows a page's colors, fonts and assets too, and measures the whole design into a prompt for your coding agent.
Is there a CSS Peeper for Safari?
No. CSS Peeper is installed from the Chrome Web Store, and its own documentation sends you there. Safari needs a native Safari extension, which comes from the Mac App Store. Siteprint is one: install the app, turn the extension on in Safari Settings, and open it on any page.
What CSS Peeper does well
CSS Peeper is a quick inspector for Chrome. Click an element and it shows that element's styles in a clean panel instead of the developer tools. It also lists the colors used on the page and lets you download its images. For checking one button's padding or grabbing a logo, it is fast and free.
What Siteprint does differently
Siteprint reads the page as a design rather than as a list of elements. It measures what Safari actually renders and gives each color its role: the canvas, the surfaces, the text, the accent and the button fill. It reads the full type scale with sizes, weights and line heights, the corners, spacing and shadows, a blueprint of every section and its grid, the animations the page plays, and its images and SVGs.
Then it writes that up. You get one prompt, at three levels of detail, or a DESIGN.md that Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Lovable or v0 can follow, plus Tailwind v4 and shadcn themes and design tokens. With Pro, your coding agent can read your scans directly over MCP. It works on pages behind a login, because it reads the page you are looking at, and nothing is uploaded.

When to stay with CSS Peeper
If you browse in Chrome, or you only need the exact CSS of one element, CSS Peeper is the simpler tool. Siteprint is for when you are in Safari and want the whole look of a page, measured, in a form a coding agent can build from.
Does CSS Peeper work in Safari?
No. CSS Peeper is a Chrome extension. In Safari, Siteprint shows a page's colors, fonts, assets and layout, and turns them into a prompt or DESIGN.md for AI tools.
Is Siteprint free?
Inspecting colors, type and layout is free. Siteprint Pro, a one-time $19.99, adds unlimited prompts and DESIGN.md files, themes, mixing two sites and agent access over MCP.
Can I copy a color's hex code with Siteprint?
Yes. Click any color on the Palette tab to copy its hex code and outline where it is used on the page.
